Extraordinary tour—with a guide

Extraordinary tours are announced on an irregular basis. Their purpose is to give visitors a sense of the labor camp environment at an unusual time of day in order to experience its unique atmosphere. They can also be organized around specific topics.

Self-guided tour of the grounds and exhibition. If circumstances and visitor traffic allow, a guide or cashier will provide visitors with a basic overview of the site, its history, and its connections to other “uranium” sites in the Jáchymov region. Visitors then proceed on their own to the Red Tower of Death itself.

This tour, which includes a brief explanation of the geopolitical significance of the Jáchymov region at the end of World War II and about the people who were sent here to perform slave labor under conditions of high radiation exposure from the ubiquitous uranium dust—which had a drastic impact on their health—lasts approximately 1 hour.
